The Wiltwyck Quilters’ Guild has been a vibrant part of the Kingston community since its founding in the late 1970s by a group of women who came together to create a quilt to commemorate the Bicentennial. Today, the Guild continues to thrive, offering a variety of workshops, hosting quilt shows, and engaging in charitable work for the community. Although the Guild takes a break over the summer, it meets monthly and always welcomes new members who are passionate about quilting. If you're interested in learning more, visit their website at wiltwyckquilters.org.
During the event at Persen House, members of the Guild will offer demonstrations on the art of quilting, sharing the history of the craft and explaining different techniques and patterns. They will also have a small display of quilts made by members, providing a beautiful showcase of the Guild's talent and creativity.
