Ulster County Clerk, Nina Postupack, Invites Visitors to Experience "Colonial Game Days" at the Matthewis Persen House Museum

Kingston, NY – Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack is thrilled to announce the eagerly anticipated event, "Colonial Game Days," taking place on July 5th and 6th at the historic Matthewis Persen House Museum. Located at 74 John Street in uptown Kingston, at the intersection of John and Crown Streets, this immersive experience promises exciting and historic games for all ages.

At the Persen House, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of entertaining colonial games, including the Game of Graces, Jacob's Ladder, Fish Toss, and Whirligigs, among others. Step into the shoes of colonial children through our "Colonial Kids" portraits to see what you might have looked like in colonial dress. Discover how games and toys from the 18th century differ from those of today and enjoy an outing that combines amusement, education, and a deep appreciation for the rich history within the Persen House.

"Game Day has become a tradition that we eagerly anticipate each summer," expressed County Clerk Nina Postupack. "Families can gather at the house, indulge in these curiously captivating games, and have fun while learning something new. The Persen House is an ideal location for this type of event, having so much history itself.”

The Persen House Museum will be open to the public from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, July 5th, and from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th. Admission is free, and everyone is warmly welcomed to partake in this enjoyable and family-friendly occasion.
