Transfer a Pistol Permit from Ulster County to Another County
To transfer your pistol permit from Ulster County to another county, the following steps must be taken:
- Complete two "Gun License Amendment" forms. (Pistol Permit Forms)
- Submit two $5.00 checks or money orders, one payable to the Ulster County Clerk and the other payable to the county to which you are transferring.
- Mail both completed Amendment forms and the two payments to:

To transfer your pistol permit from another county to Ulster County, please contact the county from which you are transferring.
Recertify a Pistol Permit
As a permit holder, it is your responsibility to recertify your permit whether you receive a notification letter or not.
- Concealed carry permits are required to recertify their permit with the New York State Police every three years.
- Premises restricted permits are required to recertify with the State Police every five years.
