ACTING ULSTER COUNTY CLERK TAYLOR BRUCK WELCOMES THE SOCIETY FOR CREATIVE ANACHRONISM TO THE PERSEN HOUSE FOR “LIFE IN THE MIDDLE AGES” ON OCTOBER 5TH
Kingston, NY – Acting Ulster County Clerk Taylor Bruck is pleased to announce that on Saturday, October 5th, the Society for Creative Anachronism, Shire of Nordenhal, will host “Life in the Middle Ages” at the Matthewis Persen House Museum, located at 74 John Street in uptown Kingston, at the corner of John and Crown Streets. Admission is free and all are welcome.
This Saturday, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), Shire of Nordenhal, will host “Life in the Middle Ages” at the Persen House. The SCA is an educational organization dedicated to reproducing and exploring the very best aspects of pre-17th century cultures. Join members of the SCA’s Shire of Nordenhal for family-friendly activities and discussions on period clothing, calligraphy, fencing, archery, and a host of other engaging activities. Visitors can participate in medieval games, try their hand at inkle-loom weaving, and experience demonstrations of traditional arts throughout the day.
“We are excited to have the SCA back at the Persen House this season,” said Acting County Clerk Taylor Bruck. “Their vibrant reenactments bring history to life, offering a unique, family-friendly opportunity for visitors of all ages to immerse themselves in the world of the Middle Ages. Events like these not only entertain but also foster a deeper understanding of our shared past, which is a cornerstone of our educational outreach efforts.”
