In celebration of Black History Month, Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack is pleased to announce a digital version of the inaugural display in the “Historical Profiles” series. The first profile features the prominent 19th century Kingston barber Henry C. Rosecranse, Jr.
Kingston, NY – Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack warns residents of an ongoing text messaging scam asking recipients to update their mailing address and contact information. The messages may reference Real ID compliance or updated regulations. Anyone who received such a text message should delete it right away.

The Ulster County Clerk’s Office had the wonderful honor this August of renewing the 1665 Richard Nicolls Peace Treaty held in the Ulster County Clerk's Archives. The Richard Nicolls Peace Treaty ended the second of two local wars between the Lenape people and European settlers. The original treaty stated that the peace be renewed each year, "that it may be kept in perpetual memory." There are 13 renewals in the archives from 1669 to 1743, and this recent renewal marked the 4th renewal of the peace since 2014.
