    Matthewis Persen House Museum Announces August Guest Hosts
    Ulster County Landmark Welcomes Reenactors, Historians, and Cultural Partners

     

    KINGSTON, NY — The Ulster County Clerk’s Office is pleased to continue its 2025 season at the Matthewis Persen House Museum with another month of engaging guest hosts throughout August. Located at the historic corner of Crown and John Streets in uptown Kingston, the Persen House remains a center for local history, culture, and community engagement.

  • 7/29-7/30 DMV Bus Not in Service

    The DMV Bus will NOT be in service on Tuesday, July 29th (Saugerties) or Wednesday, July 30th (Ellenville) due to required maintenance.

    There is also a possibility that the unit may not be on the road Thursday, depending on how the repairs go. If you plan to visit the DMV Mobile Unit Thursday, we recommend calling ahead to confirm that it is operating as scheduled.

  • Geoff Miller Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

    Ulster County Historian Emeritus Geoffrey Miller Receives National Lifetime Achievement Award

     

    KINGSTON, NY — Acting Ulster County Clerk Taylor Bruck is proud to announce that Geoffrey Miller, long-serving County Historian and current Associate Historian, has been awarded the 2025 Individual Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH). The award will be presented this September at the AASLH Annual Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio.
