As a Guest Host, you are welcome to hold a special event, lecture, exhibit, re-enactment or simply greet guests. Join the members of The Veterans in a New Field as they perform various songs of the Irish Brigade in the Civil War and songs of World War I. The Irish Brigade, consisting of mostly Irish Americans, served in the Union Army in the American Civil War. This infantry brigade became known as the “Fighting 69th” and continued in later wars.
Join us at the Persen House as we put a spotlight on a special exhibit this season, “Africans in America & Antiquity” provided by Transart & Cultural Services, Inc. The exhibition chronicles the history and culture of people of African descent in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York State, showcasing recent triumphs and enduring struggles. We are pleased to highlight this exceptional exhibit as part of the NYS Path Through History Weekend.
The County Clerk's Office, including the Department of Motor Vehicles and DMV Bus, will be closed on Monday, June 20th in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday.
Join historian Bill Merchant to learn about the D&H Canal and its contributions to Ulster County’s transportation and commercial growth in the late 19th century. The D&H Canal Historical Society was established in 1966 to preserve, protect and perpetuate the unique history of the Delaware & Hudson Canal, particularly in Ulster County. As part of fulfilling its mission, the Society operates a museum and maintains the Five Locks Walk, a National Historic Landmark.
