How long does the Naturalization ceremony take?
Approximately two hours from the arrival time specified on the documents you received from U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services. You will be required to meet with the Examiners prior to the start of the actual ceremony. Once the ceremony begins, it lasts approximately one hour depending on the number of new citizens being naturalized.
I am attending a Naturalization Ceremony in Kingston. Where can I park?
There are several parking options in uptown Kingston:
- Courthouse parking lot, 285 Wall Street;
- Ulster County Office Building parking lot, corner of Main and Fair Streets (paid parking);
- Metered on-street parking throughout uptown Kingston;
- Metered municipal parking lots on North Front Street;
- Kingston Plaza parking lot, 151 Plaza Road.
I haven't received my notary renewal card from state, can I still provide services?
Yes. As long as you have renewed through the County Clerk’s Office you are able to use your new expiration date and continue providing notary services. Your card will come in the mail within 3-4 months. If you need to verify that you have renewed, please contact us at (845) 340-3288.

If a record is sealed, who can have access to it?
For divorce records, only the parties involved and their attorneys of record may have access to the file.
For sealed criminal records, the answer varies depending on the legal statute under which the case was sealed and the documents being requested. Please contact the County Clerk’s Office at (845) 340-3288.

Is there a fee to obtain a FAVOR card?
No. This is a free service offered to veterans.
I’m getting married. How do I obtain a marriage license?
Marriage licenses are obtained at the town, city, or village level clerk’s office. You can apply to any town, city, or village within the state where you are getting married.
