If you are a qualified U.S.
If you need an authentication of a notary public who is qualified in Ulster County, you must bring in the document with the original notary stamp and signature on it (copies cannot be authenticated). The fee for each authentication is $3.00 and should be made payable to the "Ulster County Clerk". If you are submitting the document by mail, send it to the Ulster County Clerk’s Office, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, NY 12401.
Merchants can fill out the Merchant Application Form available on our website or in hardcopy at the Clerk’s Office. If there is a particular merchant you would like to participate in this program, please feel free to bring them a copy of the application form or direct them to our website to fill one out.
Certificate of Disposition can be obtained from our office. A request form must be completed (Criminal Certificate of Disposition Request Form). The fee for a Certificate of Conviction is $5.00. You may send the request form into the Ulster County Clerk's Office with the required fee. Processing time is approximately 7 to 10 days. All birth, death, and marriage records for New York State are filed at the town, city, or village clerk’s office where the event occurred. Or you may contact the New York State Department of Health.

Divorce files are available to the plaintiff or defendant or their attorney of record. Divorce papers cannot be released to any other interested party.
You may view or receive copies of a divorce case by mailing in a notarized letter stating the parties involved, the index number, the filing date and the type of records sought. If you appear in person at our office you must have a driver’s license for identification purposes.

Approximately two hours from the arrival time specified on the documents you received from U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services. You will be required to meet with the Examiners prior to the start of the actual ceremony. Once the ceremony begins, it lasts approximately one hour depending on the number of new citizens being naturalized.
